Kohl’s Opening Five New Stores in Central Valley

Kohl’s Department Stores says it will open the doors to 37 new stores in California – five in the Central Valley – on Sept. 30. This brings the total number of Kohl’s stores in California to 121. Each store will employ about 150 full- and part-time workers. Statewide, Kohl’s is creating more than 4,200 new jobs in California. Thirty-five of the new Kohl’s stores are former Mervyn’s locations. The four new stores are among 30 opening in California, marking the largest number of Kohl’s stores to open in a single state on the same day.
The Central Valley new store locations are:
• 6135 San Juan Ave., Citrus Heights
• 1896 Arden Way, Sacramento
• 11051 Olson Dr., Rancho Cordova
• 530 W. Kettleman Lane, Lodia
• 400 Merced Mall, Merced
Kohl’s claims to be the world’s largest retail host of solar power with 78 solar locations nationwide, including 58 in California. A solar array is currently under construction at the Arden Way location in Sacramento. Kohl’s expects that once activated, this location will be the company’s 59th solar location in the state.
