Central Valley Warehouse Gets LEED Certification

STOCKTON
August 13, 2009

•           ProLogis says it’s one of five to get LEED seal
•           Distribution center is occupied by Sears

A distribution center in Stockton owned by ProLogis has been certified LEED-NC Silver for its energy-saving aspects, ProLogis says. The ProLogis Park Duck Creek Building One, located in Stockton, is currently occupied by Sears and was built for the customer on a build-to-suit basis in mid-2008.

The 780,000-square-foot distribution center has green features including a comprehensive energy-efficient lighting system that is expected to save Sears approximately $400,000 in lighting energy use on a yearly basis. It’s one of five ProLogis distribution centers in the United States to be recently certified by the United States Green Building Council as LEED (“Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design”) compliant, the Denver, Colo.-based company says.

In January 2008, ProLogis announced its initiative to build all of its future development in the United States in accordance with the USGBC ’s standards for LEED certification. ProLogis now has more than 4.2 million square feet of distribution space that is LEED certified in the U.S.
